The NIS2 Directive, which replaces the NIS Directive from 2016 and came into force on January 16, 2023 and must be implemented by the member states by October 17, 2024, is intended to remove previous restrictions and respond to the increasing cybersecurity threats in the EU as a result of digitalization To this end, NIS2 extends the scope to a much larger part of the economy, covering all medium
and large enterprises in essential and important sectors, improving the resilience and incident response of the public and private sectors in the EU.
