New Member of the OSS Association: Tapkey

The OSS Association welcomes its newest member: Tapkey, an Access as a Service platform.

Tapkey joined the OSS Association on August 3rd, 2020. Thanks to the platform's public interfaces (Management API, Mobile SDK, Lock SDK), it is possible for partners to seamlessly integrate smartphone-based access into existing apps and to create new access solutions for the connected world. There is an ecosystem of compatible hardware such as cylinders, wall readers, padlocks, furniture locks and car sharing boxes. Near Field Communication (NFC) and Bluetooth (BLE) allow users to open doors, cars, boxes and more with their smartphone even without an internet connection. Tapkey pays attention to the highest security standards and user friendliness.

“We look forward to welcoming new members in our midst. As an expert in the field of mobile access control, Tapkey should not be missing.” says Frederik Hamburg, chairman of the organisation. “As a provider of an open Access as a Service platform, we are committed to establishing and implementing industry standards, because this makes it easier for hardware manufacturers and integrators to benefit from our technology. As a contributing member of the OSS Association, we will contribute our longstanding know-how to the OSS standardisation processes. In a rapidly developing technology environment, we strive to help that new standards also meet the requirements of future solutions.” says Markus Minichmayr, Co-CEO and CTO of Tapkey.
