Thanks to the modular mobile phone solution myAuthent, WHU is future-oriented. As the first university in Germany, is now for employees and students used a smartphone app to open online and offline doors. The offline components are a solution from the Schomäcker company that conforms to the OSS standard and was implemented using hardware from the OSS partner U&Z. With the myAuthent app, the Mensa paid. An app that simplifies the everyday life of students and employees.
At WHU, the mechanical door locks were replaced with an electronic locking system. Initially, priority was given to the 80 entrance doors, which are now all equipped with online readers. In addition, 240 interior doors with electronic offline components with OSS standard were installed. Individual access rights are granted to individual persons via access profiles.
All doors with an electronic door lock can be opened with a MIFARE® DESFire® card. The myKi software solution manages the access authorizations and applies them to the card via online readers. This greatly simplifies the administration of the complex system.
Alternatively, doors can also be opened with the smartphone app. To do this, you first need to scan a QR code at the online door. In the next expansion stage, authentication with the smartphone via Bluetooth® will be possible. The same app enables uncomplicated payment in the canteen.
The myAuthent app is available for both Android and iOS operating systems.
